Vinilia emerges from the untamed landscapes of Salento, Apulia, where an ancient castle is transformed into a captivating fusion of style and warmth. Here, beauty is not just in the eye of the beholder but also in the heart of those who appreciate it.
A Storied Past
Vinilia Wine Resort is the result of the meticulous renovation of an ancient mansion dating back to the early 1900s. Originally commissioned by the aristocratic Schiavone family of Manduria, with roots stretching from Rome to Manduria, the structure exudes the charm of neo-eclectic Roman architecture prevalent during that era.
A Neo-Eclectic Masterpiece
The resort, resembling an old manor with towers, turrets, battlements, and intricate decorations, carries the essence of a small medieval castle. Historically identified as "Casina Ciracì," the origins of its name remain shrouded in mystery. The property also features secondary structures, including stables and outbuildings, complemented by an Italian garden at the rear.
Purchased by the Lacaita/Parisi family, the property underwent extensive restoration to rescue it from years of neglect. Of particular note is the three-story internal staircase, boasting rampart masonry vaults resting on small arches. The restoration project aimed to preserve the original wall structure while eliminating decades of accumulated accretions, breathing new life into the historic building.
